This is business

Today bla: I’ve got the mucosa-phlegm, bad. Any home remedies to introduce? I read about coughing the hack out of it. But it doesn’t seem to work..

I have tried my hands on certain if not many “business”. Actually, they were valid businesses I dealt and some, fortunately saw some profit. And that’s always good for my pocket from time to time.

The last business I did was selling rackets. It does sound like an old man’s job (man in an old spooky spidery store and puffing on a long pipe) but it is profitable, at least, to me, once in a while. The whole adventure was that I brought in 3 rackets for $90 from Denmark – Join.

And I managed to sell them off for $60 each (two) and one for $80 because of the better strings I used. In total I managed to get $200 – a net profit of $120.

This, was very profitable, but a coin has two faces. There were businesses I did which weren’t as profitable too. For example a white vest I bought from eBay a while ago. Initially I wanted to look like a cool piano player wearing a white and a white vest would definitely do the trick. But the vest came out a crazy size of XXL although it was labelled XL on its tag so I forgo the idea of cool piano player. I don’t play the piano much anyways. #wtf

I bought the white vest at $5. A Steal.

Anyways, the vest was sitting for a long time in my wardrobe and I took the initiative to sell it, for $15. A buyer came up and bought it through eBay and this is the part where it all gets a bit nifty. To list the item, it’s $2. To post it to Sydney (buyer is there), the cost of postage was a staggering $8 which adds up to $10. So to sum it all up, I ended up giving away my white vest.

Short hair looks better on me, no?

You might say, “if you didn’t lose anything, no worries”. Well, I queued for 30minutes for postage, wrapped, spent  quite some time taking pictures and listing it on eBay. So unless the profit margin is high for you to sell stuffs on eBay, don’t do it.

For example, selling a Nike bag for $55 when the original price is $30 – there is your big profit margin plus the selling price is cheaper than the retail price so you would definitely get a lot of buyers.

Anyways, what sees profit now is the badminton gears I am selling. I don’t go around telling people what I am selling but I wait for them to get to me. Maybe that’s why it’s only relatively profitable. Maybe I should take the initiative and advertise or sorts. I shall think of something along these lines in future.

Or think like this father.
